Promise of Blessings

May 15, 2012
Last Thursday the founders of a startup company based in Singapore setup a meeting with me after reading my technical blog about programming. After discussing with me about their product and the opportunities and potentials it has, they offered me to pay my current company for me to be able to leave and work with them instead.

I told them that I cannot leave my bosses because their business is not doing very well at this time and they need my help. They have been a blessing to me so I want to be a blessing to them in return.

This is only one of the many instances which a company called in or emailed me expressing interest to get me work with them. I remember one of our pastors mentioned "There is no such thing as missed opportunity for Christians, because the Bible says blessings will overtake us" (Ps 23:6, Deu 28:2-3).

The Bible also says "You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country". And true enough, whether I live in the city or live in the countryside, I can take my job with me. And I am grateful that all God's promises to Abraham and his children are applicable to me through Christ Jesus (Gal 3:14).

God, you are faithful.
